…the black version below. That’s right. My poster took 1st place in the 2011 calendar poster design contest sponsored by CD101. I am super excited!

I want to send out a hugh THANK YOU to everybody who let me bounce ideas off of them and provided me with constructive criticism along the way.

This was my first year entering this contest, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. My friend James and I each created an entry and it was so fun to see the ideas grow and evolve up until it was time to get them printed. James and I both made it past the pre-judging round to become one of the 15 finalists that were on display at the November gallery hop this past weekend. Unfortunately, he did not place but it wasn’t because of lack of effort or skill.

I didn’t think to take any photos at the event, but here is a link to view the second and third place winners.

So I have added the finishing touches to my poster entry. In the process of tweaking it, I created a reverse version just to see what it would look like. Now, I’m having trouble deciding on which one to go with. I’ve spent so many years designing by committee that I can’t seem to make decisions without the help of my friends. Can you help me out one more time? Which do you prefer?
